The top indie comics of the week
Indie comics are the best kept secret in comics. The big companies like Marvel and DC dominate the shelves and the screens because they have the big money but the best stories are found in the world of indie comics.
Many, and I mean many of the shows you watch on Netflix and Prime were orginally indie comics. Let’s list off a few, shall we?
The Boys-(Image comics)an indie comic book series written by Garth Ennis with over 12 volumes and 72 issues
Sweet Tooth-(Vertigo comics) written and drawn by Canadian cartoonist Jeff Lemire
Warrior Nun-(Antartic Press) By Ben Dunn
Lucifer-(DC) a comic but technically not indie but I thought you might be interested to know.
Locke & Key(IDW) by Joe Hill, illustrated by Gabriel Rodríguez
Invincible and Waking Dead (Image) both by Robert Kirkman
The list goes on and on.
So when I say some of the best stories in comics are indie I mean it.
Each week live on Fridays at 11am MDT on youtube, Matt Campbell and Smurf from 5280geek show 3 new indie comics that are currently active on some crowdfunding platform.
