You are beautiful!
One of the most rewarding things as an artist is to make someone feel better about themselves. Many of us suffer from deep seated self-esteem issues.
Too many women (and men) don’t realize they are beautiful just the way they are.
To have the privilege to draw someone and make them see themselves as beautiful is truly a blessing.
One of my instagram followers recently messaged me to tell me that they loved how I illustrated women and would love to be drawn by me but did not feel good about how she looked.
When you don’t feel good about how you look the last thing you want to do is share a picture of yourself but she did. Can I just state how much courage that alone took?
From her reference I simply sketched what I saw and added a beach background. When I showed it to her the joy she felt made it all worth it saying how beautiful it was.
You were always beautiful, I just illustrated it.
So remember, we come in many different shapes and sizes, and we need to support each other and our differences. Our beauty is in our differences.
